Marcin Pieńkowski from Cannes: We go where the talent leads us.
A White, White Day by Hlynur Pálmason, the director of the wonderful Winter Brothers, was one of the most distinctive films at this year’s Cannes Festival. Formally, it tells the incredible story of a mysterious vengeance, but it is also an unconventional film about mourning (a common subject in this year’s program at Cannes). With his own unrivaled style, Pálmason is a great talent and one of the most fascinating voices in contemporary European cinema.
